Annual Update for Pensioner Members 2025

April 2025

Update for pensioners - April 2025

Pensions Increase

Local Government Pensions are increased each April in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI), also known as the 'Cost of Living Increase.' The pensions increase this year is 1.7% and is effective from 7 April 2025. Your new rate of annual pension can be found in your mypension account.

Please note, if you left the job attached to your pension on or after 23 April 2024, you will not receive the full increase this year. You will receive a proportion of the 1.7%, based on how many months the pension has been in payment during the year. More information about how pensions are increased can be found at https://www.lgpsmember.org/faqs/how-are-pension-increases-calculated/

Please note, as the increase is effective from 7 April 2025, your April payment will be a combination of two different annual rates as follows:-

1 April 2025 to 6 April 2025

Will not include the increase

7 April 2025 onwards

Will include the increase

Your May pension will be the first full month in which you will see the full increase.
